My office complete with canine companions
Chris Brogan likes to work from the bookstore. I prefer my home office. It’s quiet, roomy, there’s plenty of space for the woofs and I get to walk in the forest in the afternoon.
Being a freelance translator, copywriter and all-round hackwriter my office is also pretty portable. Yesterday I worked in a café for an hour. Last week I spent two hours writing at the library. Here in deepest, darkest Sweden I also move from the “office” proper to the kitchen in search of light.
Some friends (and clients) wonder if I get a bit lonely cooped out at my desk but the truth is, I don’t. I talk to a lot of people on the phone or via Skype. I Twitter. I often have business lunches or meetings to attend. And then there’s the regular dog walkers on my afternoon rounds.
So, no. My office suits me just fine. I would like a (neater) and nicer desk. Perhaps something that fits in the corner. I’d also like a lake-side view. But I’m working on that.
