I‘m posting this here because I finally got an answer from Telenor here in Sweden about what I had to do to get my Telenor mobile broadband working with my MacBookPro & Snow Leopard. After about three months of irritation, phone calls and disillusionment with their service.
Go to the Stay Connected (ha!) website and download the client you require. It’s as easy as that. And it works. Finally.
Telenor’s Customer Service Sucks
I was about this close to biting the bullet and switching to 3 on Thursday. I had an important meeting in Stockholm and needed to get my mobile broadband working for the occasion. If the Phone House had actually had a sim card in stock I would have signed up for 3 then and there in Mörby Centrum. But they didn’t so I managed anyway. One last phone call to Telenor on Friday morning saved me having to pay double for three months.
Having said that, I’m still not convinced Telenor know how to communicate with their customers. Every time I’ve rung them previously they’ve told me to watch out for updates about Snow Leopard on their website.
It still says nothing, despite the fact they now have an update out for customers with the Option modem! In fact, they’re concentrating on pushing new deals ahead of the Christmas, er, rush.
So let’s start the week with a simple business lesson: take care of the customers you’ve got before you go searching for new ones. Especially the one’s who participate in social networks online!
